Now I know that stranger awareness is supposed to be a good thing, but Matthew has been scared to death. It all started 3 weeks ago; when at school, they talked about strangers for the first time. When I picked him up, all he could talk about was “gray things with no faces”. After much prodding, I was able to get the full story. Apparently, they had flash cards showing strangers as gray shadows with no faces. Although I understand the theory of them not wanting to put faces on the strangers.. Matthew has been scared to death of the “gray things”. The entire drive home, Matthew repeated what he had learned that day.

Here are a few:

* Strangers are gray things with no faces

* Police take the strangers away with their hands behind their backs

* Call 911 if there is an emergency or if a stranger tries to get into the house

That night we talked about strangers, and Jeff and I taught Matthew how to dial 911, and all was good.. or so we thought. For the first time in his 4 1/2 years Matthew crawled into our bed in the middle of the night. About 3 am or so, Matthew tapped me on the shoulder and asked to get into our bed because there were strangers trying to get into his room. The following night he did she same thing again. He was so worried about strangers getting in to our house and wanted to know if he could “kill” them. After I told him no, he said he would just “poke” them or cal 911. So now, each night he locks all the doors, turns on his closet light, and shuts his bedroom door just in case a stranger gets in. I keep waiting for this phase to pass, but today the obsession continues.

This is a blue stranger, a rocket, and the steps to our home. He told Jeff that the blue rocket was really a house and that the stranger couldn’t get in because the doors were locked.

Every once in a while I get a little glimpse into what the future holds for my family. Matthew was quietly playing in his room tonight, and came running into the living room and asked us to bring Andrew to his room. He wanted to teach him how to play video games. I just pray that this is just the first of many more playdates that they will have together! So cute!!

Ok Ok, so I didn’t get off to a great start.  Acutally, I forgot that I had even created this thing.  I’ll go ahead and just jump right in.

  Matthew started T-ball last month.  He goes back and forth between loving it and being bored by it.  I think he is so cute in his T-ball outfit ( I mean uniform) and I just love taking him to the games.  Poor thing doesn’t know what to do with the ball once he gets it but he tries.  I’ll post a few pictures so you can see for yourself just how cute he is.

Andrew will be 4 months old this week.  Time has really flown by since he was born.  I am still taking him to work with me every afternoon, but it is getting harder as he is getting bigger.  He doesn’t sleep as much and wants to be entertained.
